In this study, it was aimed to determine the opinions of teachers about the adaptation process of visually impaired children to society. For this purpose, interviews were conducted with teachers working in schools with visually impaired students. Qualitative research method was preferred as the method in order to determine the opinions of the teachers within the scope of the research purposes. The study group of the research consists of 25 teachers working in schools providing education to visually impaired individuals in the 2021-2022 academic year. The teachers in the study group were determined by the criterion sampling method, one of the purposive sampling methods. The active education of the visually impaired student in the school where he was assigned was determined as a criterion. In the study, a semi-structured interview form developed by the researcher by taking expert opinion was used in order to determine the place of the teacher in the adaptation process of visually impaired children to society. The data collected through the developed form were analyzed by content analysis method. In the study, it was determined that teachers emphasized the existence of deficiencies in the adaptation process of visually impaired individuals to society. It has been determined that these deficiencies are listed as the planning and implementation of educational processes and lifelong learning processes. In addition, in the study, it was concluded that visually impaired individuals have deficiencies in acquiring a profession and gaining a new ability in the process of adaptation to society. As a result, it has been suggested that school administrators and teachers should be supported with in-service training in order to be more effective in the adaptation process of visually impaired children to society.
